We install polished concrete floors, epoxy coating, and terrazzo flooring for interior spaces. We also offer architectural cast terrazzo and concrete products, including stairs, bases, tiles, wall panels, and furniture.

What types of businesses or companies do you typically do flooring for?

Dancer Concrete specializes in sustainable, design-driven floors for the retail, education, manufacturing, warehousing, and food/beverage industries. We work on high-end, custom-designed projects and large warehousing. Some of our previous customers have been local K-12 schools. We have polished concrete and terrazzo in hallways, cafeterias and multipurpose rooms and installed epoxy in bathrooms and kitchens. A lot of our business is done in large warehouses where we provide concrete densifiers, stain guards and joint filling/caulking. The terrazzo work we do is found on stairs, lobbies, hallways and anywhere design and durability flooring needs to be installed.

What is polished concrete and what is the process of creating polished concrete?

Polished concrete is a popular flooring option that involves refining the surface of a concrete slab to create a smooth, glossy finish. It is a cost-effective and sustainable flooring solution that offers a high level of durability, low maintenance, and an aesthetically pleasing look.

The process of creating polished concrete typically involves several steps, including grinding, honing, and polishing. Large machines and hand grinders with tooling are used to remove layers of the concrete surface to expose the aggregate, or stones, that make up the concrete mixture.

During the grinding process, rough spots and imperfections on the surface of the concrete are removed using progressively finer abrasive discs. Concrete joints can be filled and any imperfections are repaired and patched. Once the desired look is achieved, the surface is honed using finer grit abrasives to create a satin-like finish.

Next, the surface can be polished using even finer grit abrasives to create a high sheen finish.

To ensure the durability and longevity of the polished concrete, the floor is treated with concrete densifiers and stain guards. The densifiers are used to harden the concrete, making it more resistant to abrasion, while the stain guards provide protection against spills and stains.

Finally, the floor is burnished. The result is a durable, low-maintenance flooring solution perfect for high-traffic areas like retail stores, warehouses, restaurants, coffee shops, and commercial buildings.

What kind of epoxy coatings do you offer?

Our team of experts at Dancer Concrete Design can install clear, solid color, urethane mortar, decorative chip, decorative quartz, and metallic epoxy flooring systems. Our systems are great for industrial areas, food and beverage spaces, and multi-purpose environments. Request a Quote to find what system is best for your commercial space.

What is terrazzo flooring?

Terrazzo is a flooring system that has been used since ancient times, and the modern day terrazzo process dates back to the Venetians of the 16th century. The word “terrazzo” comes from the Italian word “terrazza,” which means terrace or balcony. Terrazzo was originally used as an outdoor flooring material, but it has evolved into an indoor flooring system as well.

The basic process of creating terrazzo involves embedding chips of marble, granite, glass, or other materials into a binder material, such as cement or epoxy. The resulting mixture is poured onto a surface and then polished to a smooth, shiny finish.

One of the advantages of terrazzo is its durability. It is resistant to stains, scratches, and impact, making it ideal for high-traffic areas. Terrazzo is also low-maintenance and can be easily cleaned with soap and water.

Another advantage of terrazzo is customization. The chips used in terrazzo can be of different sizes, colors, and materials, allowing for endless design possibilities. We can install intricate patterns, logos, and designs with terrazzo, making it a popular choice for commercial and public spaces.

In addition to its use as a flooring material, terrazzo can also be used for stairs, countertops, and even furniture. With its durability, versatility, and aesthetic appeal, terrazzo remains a popular choice for both commercial and residential spaces.
