“Ghosting” is a common occurrence when polished concrete is selected for remodel projects where previous floor coverings were installed. This is a visible stain pattern left in the concrete. Vinyl and ceramic tile are the two main culprits, although other floor finishes can leave staining marks on a concrete slab. These markings are purely aesthetic and do not impact the function of the floor.

If these “ghosting” marks would hinder the use of polished concrete when designing a space, we have options for a surface topping to be installed, such as our Surface Polish or Surface Terrazzo, or any of our TreadWell epoxy coating systems instead.
