Sara’s Sweets

Project Specs:

System: Polished Concrete Floors
Color: Natural
Size: 1,200 sq ft

Our team at Dancer Concrete Design recently installed polished concrete floors for Sara’s Sweets, a new bakery in Lima, Ohio. Sara Anderson and her team bake gourmet cupcakes including tasty and unique flavors such as Cappuccino Chip, Churro, and Maple Bacon. They offer a cupcake flavor calendar that highlights when your favorite flavors will be available, as well as some everyday favorites. Sara’s Sweets also specializes in catering cupcakes for weddings and other events. When thinking about design, Sara was looking for a neutral background to her colorful cupcakes, and that’s what we offered her with polished concrete floors.

Since the building was new construction, our team went in to this project with a blank slate. After the concrete was poured, we came in and started the polishing process. The aggregate that was exposed was cream – very fine aggregate exposure. After 4 passes, the floor had the 400 Grit Satin Finish that the owner desired. This result is a Level 1 Polishing Finish. The designer for this space, Dancer Design, wanted to utilize the floor’s natural color instead of opting for a dye or stain. We also filled all control joints with Warm Stone coloring to best match the natural look of the floor. With her newly polished natural concrete floors, Sara will have a clean and sophisticated look added to her space while requiring little maintenance and being very durable. That’s a pretty sweet deal!
