For this project, the team traveled to Rochester, Indiana to a home that overlooks Lake Manitou. The home was in need of a complete renovation. The lower level floor was currently a variety of concrete poured at different times, in different types of condition and at different levels. The homeowners were deciding between tile and concrete for the basement floor. One of the sons who was familiar with our work and the benefits of stained concrete reassured the family on the investment in the concrete floor and the advantages over tile such as; never cleaning/sealing grout, the customization of colors with concrete, and the overall lower cost. We wanted to complete this project with as little hassle as possible to the client, so we got a key to home while they were in Chicago for a long weekend. Within 4 days, we took this floor from an un-level, rough, dirty eyesore, to a beautiful, easy to maintain, and colorful surface.

When concrete is uneven and seems impossible to stain, we can create a new concrete look with an overlay. The overlay can be applied to concrete to fix the uneven surfaces and make an old concrete floor look new again without demolition. The overlay allowed the floor to be stained to a beautiful custom color and the various levels and ages of concrete to be hidden.
