Dancer Concrete Design is always willing to try something new. And our clients have some great ideas and suggestions! This particular client came to us with a request to make his floor look like the ice in the United Center (home of the 2015 Stanley Cup Champions, Chicago Blackhawks). Blue line to blue line was requested along with a customized logo to include the client’s last name. Challenge accepted!
We began the process by prepping the floor and patching any rough spots. A moisture blocking primer was also applied on day one. Since we would be using white epoxy, it was important that we prepped the floor in the best way possible. White epoxy is VERY hard to put down and we wanted to make sure it had a solid white, ice-like, coating. After the white base coat was applied the team put down the printed custom logo. To make sure the logo was flush with the floor, a thick clear topcoat was added. We went back and applied a second topcoat to the finished floor to create a completely smooth surface.
Taking the extra steps to prep and finish the floor ensures that the “Jardenil Center” will look great for years to come.
